25 Tips to Save 20% for Your Retirement with No Effort

August 4, 2020 · Retirement Life

13. Allow Yourself To Splurge, but Keep It to a Minimum

Knowing when to control your spending urges is important, but knowing how to do so with your all-time favorite purchase might sound impossible. First, it’s important to look at the numbers. This should give you an idea of how much you’re actually spending per month or per year. Say you can’t go a day without a latte. At $3.65 a drink, you’ll be spending $1,332.25 per year!

So what’s the solution? Limiting yourself instead of outright cutting down on your Achilles’ heel will help keep you happy while also being conscious about money. Do you love shoes or sneakers? Buy one a pair per season instead of a pair per month. The same goes with other items, you just need to know when to cut back and how much.
