Step 3: Evaluate and Compare New Regional Plans
Use the official Medicare Plan Finder tool on Medicare.gov roughly 30 to 60 days before your move date. Enter your new zip code and input your complete list of regular maintenance medications. Compare available Medicare Advantage plans or standalone Part D drug plans. Pay close attention to:
- Network status of primary care doctors and regional hospital networks in your new town.
- Formulary coverage and tier placements for your specific prescriptions.
- Preferred local network pharmacies near your new neighborhood.
- Total annual estimated costs, including premiums, deductibles, and maximum out-of-pocket limits.
