Top 20 Affordable Cities for Retirees in 2020

February 7, 2020 · Retirement Life

7. Winston-Salem, North Carolina

It’s no wonder Winston-Salem is known as the “City of the Arts”. You could visit the Art District for a multitude of workshops, galleries, and restaurants. One of the main attractions of this region is ARTivity On The Green, established by Art for Art’s Sake, its an art-themed park located on Liberty Street, between 6th and 7th Streets, in downtown Winston-Salem.

Thanks to the grassroots arts organization Carolina Music Ways, you’ll be able to enjoy a diverse music repertoire, from blues to jazz, to bluegrass to even gospel and more.

Though it’s true that this city’s livability is a bit low at 65, the fact that you’ll likely find a house for around $200,000 should make up for it.
