Delaware

– Social Security is exempt from taxes, as well as up to $12,500 of pension or retirement income

– Seniors aged 60 and older are not required to pay any tuition fees for degree programs at the University of Delaware

– 50% subsidy for taxi fares and free door-to-door transportation through many senior centers

– Residents 65 and older do not need a hunting or fishing license or waterfowl stamp

District of Columbia

– Social Security is exempt from taxes

– Seniors aged 65 and older benefit from undergraduate course auditing for $50 at Georgetown University

– Reduced SmarTrip card for all Washington Metro train and buses
