Staying connected with family via video calls and mobile networks is non-negotiable. Telecommunications companies fiercely compete for older customers who are highly likely to pay their bills on time and rarely switch carriers.

16. T-Mobile

Mobile phone bills are notoriously expensive, but reaching age 55 completely changes the landscape. T-Mobile offers dedicated “Unlimited 55+” plans that provide the exact same coverage and unlimited data as their standard plans, but at a drastically reduced monthly rate. A two-line 55+ plan often costs less than a single line on a standard tier. Verizon and AT&T offer similar 55+ plans, though theirs are sometimes restricted to residents of specific states (like Florida) or require specific affiliations. T-Mobile’s plan is generally available nationwide to anyone 55 or older.
