Owning a home is seen as one of the greatest achievements of an adult’s life. It signifies stability while also increasing a person’s net worth, both are sought after by Americans across the U.S.

Retirees, however, might benefit from saying goodbye to their homes in favor of renting. By doing so you’ll be relieving yourself of at least four financial burdens, paying property taxes, paying for a homeowner’s insurance, mortgage, and ongoing maintenance.

Once you strip these numbers out of the equation you’ll see just how much ‘fun’ money you’ll be left with, not to mention the chunk you’ll get from selling your property.
