19. Do Plan a Trial Run

Moving during retirement is a big move and likely not one you’ll be able to handle twice if things go awry the first time around. Now that you’ve made a list and you’ve gathered all the information you can off the internet, it’s time to really test things out.

Trial runs will show you what the area you’ve picked is really like. Maybe the pictures online looked great but in reality, the city isn’t as clean or convenient. Maybe while the numbers add up, you find that your chosen destination is not quite as senior-friendly as the internet would have you believe.

There are many things you should take a closer look at. You don’t want to find out your new home is not quite as dreamy as you’d expected. Before it’s too late, scout the city out!
