If your typical load takes an hour to dry, three loads will cost you close to a dollar. Same as with our dishwasher example before, make sure you’re only using it when you have a full load to save some money.
If your dryer comes with a drying sensor, use that. It’s far more efficient than picking the timer option since you could run it for longer without it being necessary for your fabrics. Unplug the appliance when you’re not using it, and if you have an outdoor space you can hang clothes on, that means you won’t be needing your dryer in the warmer months at all!
Water Pump
Most households can’t unplug their water pump, understandably so. But with an average wattage of 725 watts and a cost per hour of $0.09, you can still look for ways to reduce costs.
Two major considerations: only use it when you need to, and make sure you have the right type of pump for your home. A lot of people waste more energy and money by not having the right type of pump installed!
