Retirement does not mean an end to emergency funds. You will still need to replace used appliances, make home-repairs or mend your car. Having an emergency fund will prevent you from digging into your retirement savings and spend them sooner than expected. You don’t want to hinder your plans for a smooth and comfortable retirement every time you need to fix something, do you?
