You can reduce your food costs in retirement without starving yourself in the process. The key is to eliminate expensive convenience foods from your shopping list and find more time to prepare healthy meals on your own.

However, if you are not exactly the best cook in town or feel tempted to spend your entire newfound time idling with your friends, you should know there are plenty of restaurants that offer senior discounts. The same goes for grocery stores. You just need to do your research and find out where to eat out or shop and save money at the same time.
