10 Common Myths That Might Be Killing Your Early Retirement Plans

March 26, 2021 · Retirement Life

You will run out of things to do

When considering early retirement, many people ask themselves a very important question: What will I do with all that time? The number of future retirees who worry that they will get bored in retirement is not at all neglectable.

Come to think of it, if you retire in your 40s, you might have 40 or 50 more years of newfound freedom and free time that you’ll have to fill in somehow. And even for the most laid-back people, spending their next 40 years laying on the beach, is not exactly their perfect notion of retirement.

However, with a little bit of planning, you can start a new chapter of your life, one in which you’ll be able to mix work with pleasure, any way you want it. You can still keep a side job and secure some extra money, get involved in charity work, start foundations or become a mentor for someone younger, all the while traveling and doing other things you like. The point is, with a smart plan, you can’t get bored, no matter how early you decide to retire.
