25 Tips to Boost Your 401(K) Now!

May 11, 2020 · Personal finance

25. Ask Your Employer for More Options

Sadly, a lot of Americans dismiss their 401(k) plans altogether due to a lack of information and options. Most people aren’t aware that they could change that by simply asking their plan provider for things that will benefit them.

After all, if you don’t ask, the answer is always no!

For the most part, plans offer between 5 and 25 mutual fund options. Not impressed? You could self-direct your plan into individual stocks, ETFs, bonds, other mutual funds, and other traded securities.

Research what options might be best for your financial plans and present them to your company. If they’re willing to make you happy- which they should in order to keep you on board for as long as possible, then they should facilitate any requests you may have.
