17 Things to Do for a Healthy Retirement

Outsourcing All Your Tasks

A rule of thumb for super savers is to not pay for something you can do yourself. Outsourcing your tasks, while comfortable, is just another thing that will make your retirement savings suffer.

Instead of paying for a housecleaner, do chores around your house regularly so the work doesn’t pile up. If it does, set up a day of the week or month to take care of everything, top to bottom.

Look at other luxuries in your house you could do away with and instead, look around you. Do you have friends or family with particular skills? Then make use of the barter system by instead of paying strangers to do it, ask the people closest to you to trade tasks. For example, your friend could fix your laptop for you if you help out around the garden for them. Both of you win and neither of you has to pay out of pocket.
