Let’s look at California once more. In Irvine, you’ll pay close to $1 million. Yeah, the median list prices are that high. Sadly, that’s not where your problems will end.
On top of that exorbitant sum, seniors will have a 7.25% statewide sales tax to worry about. All in all, Irvine seems to be the right place to retire only for those with significant savings, income and investment portfolios.
If you don’t want every aspect of your life tied down to budgeting, it’s time to leave Irvine behind.

I can tell you first hand,Don’t move to Calif!!! I lived in Calif most of my life and in a couple months am going to retire and get out of Calif..too expensive,everything is taxed and housing prices are terrible.
