  • Alaska – Alaska has been described by many as a “magical wonder”. Those retirees who opted for an Alaska cruise had a relaxing, cold but peaceful vacation. You can enjoy your dinner while watching massive glaciers appear right around the corner, and eagles soaring above the head. And if you’re worrying it might cost too much, remember there are always cheaper destinations, but the experience is not the same.
  • The Caribbean – If you wish to relax on your next vacation, the Caribbean is the perfect place for you. But, if you’re looking for a quiet place there, you should try and book something when it’s off-season, like September/October.
  • Hawaii – If the Caribbean doesn’t sound appealing, you can always try Hawaii. Both destinations are very accessible for North Americans, making it the ideal place to escape your daily routine.
  • Williamsburg, Virginia – If you’re into playing golf, going to museums and shopping, you can find a variety of stuff to do in Williamsburg. You’ll find there pieces of classic architecture, reenactments at Colonial Williamsburg, and other entertaining activities that will fill up your time .
  • Tuscany, Italy – If you haven’t been to Italy so far, it’s something you need to do at least once in a lifetime. And for a first-time-there trip, Tuscany is the perfect place to go. To avoid spending too much money, try to look for trains that offer senior discounts, but also consider short-term rentals.
  • Sicily, Italy – Sicily is an Italian island that is located in the Mediterranean Sea, and one of the most beautiful places to visit. By visiting Sicily, you’ll get to see the Valley of the Temples, go wine tasting and try delicious and local plates, like arancini (Sicilian rice balls), caponata (an eggplant stew), and the beloved pizza.

I have been retired for over 20 years. In retirement, I have aquired a new husband – one who enjoys travelling as much as I do. In the last 20 years we have taken over 40 cruises. We have seen much of the world from the comfort of a cruise ship.
As we are closing in on 80 years of age we seek out trips that are easier on us. yet still provide activities we can both enjoy. When we are going somewhere we doubt we’ll ever return to we often take a back to back cruises to be sur we can see everything that is offered.
