Texas is yet another state that won’t chip into your savings with that pesky income tax. But, on top of that, you also won’t have to worry about state taxes on your Social Security. With all that money saved, all you have to do next is figure out where you want to live- and believe us, there are plenty of choices. Austin and Houston are great destinations if you’re looking for a seemingly never-ending supply of activities. If you’d prefer quiet, welcoming areas, there’s an abundance of affordable towns you can choose from. Finally, if you simply can’t see yourself away from the ocean, you could give the Gulf of Mexico a shot!
