11 Things Retirees Should Buy ONLY at Costco (And Why)

  • Prescriptions – Just to make it clear, in case you’ve heard it wrong before: you don’t have to become a member to take advantage of its generally low drug prices. Retirees that rely on Medicare as health insurance, can easily browse through Costco-preferred pharmacy plans on Costco’s website.
  • Eyeglasses – Whatever you might be looking for, whether it’s a specific pair of contact lenses or sunglasses, or something else, you will definitely find a better price at Costco. The retailer has an optical department, where you can get an eye exam and receive help choosing what’s best for you.
  • Vitamins and supplements – You should always consult with your own doctor if you want to try new vitamins and supplements. If you receive the doctor’s approval, you should buy what you want from Costco. The wholesale club offers an extended selection of vitamins, multivitamins, dietary supplements, and herbal supplements. Whatever you might think of, they definitely have it.
  • Hearing aid batteries – Although the cost of hearing aid batteries can increase significantly, you can still save money on premium quality hearing aid batteries, if you buy them from Costco. Plus, their warehouse locations have hearing aid centers, so you’ll be offered free hearing aid cleanings and check-ups.
  • Mobility aids – For retirees who need help staying on the move, there are a bunch of good deals on wheelchairs and walkers at Costco. Even more, the retailer sells medical alert systems.
