11. Research Your Health Care Benefits

Most seniors over 65 rely on Medicare. Make sure you know what this means so that you don’t get any information mixed up. If you make any mistakes it could cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

For example, the Medicare Advantage plan offers in-network providers. If you stray away from these services you could end up paying more. On the other hand, Original Medicare doesn’t cover foreign hospitals when you travel.

The bottom line? Just read all the fine print and make sure you’re within the parameters of your program and you should be a-okay!
