There are lots of things Uncle Sam can’t touch — so long as you play by the rules.

Everyone has to pay taxes, they’re oftentimes unavoidable. But if you play your cards right you can spend as little money as possible on them. After all, even retirement won’t save you from tax forms and headaches. 

Here’s a list of nine things you can avoid paying federal income taxes on that should help you navigate your finances better.
