Wages Have Remained Stagnant for Decades
You may think that since the economy seems to have grown exponentially over the last several years, wages must have followed suit. But since the 1970s, they’ve only seen an increase of 0.2%. This stagnant behaviour has put many Americans in tough situations, chief among which is not having enough money to take care of their daily expenses while also putting some aside.
What about corporate profits? Well, analysts show that instead of the workforce being able to enjoy the result of their labour, profits that go to workers have actually decreased from 65% in the mid-70s to 57% today.
