November 4, 2019 · Retirement Life

Memphis, Tennessee

If music is a big part of your life, consider Memphis. You can enjoy live blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll to your heart’s desire. Memphis’ quality of life score is 65 and its percentage of seniors is just a little lower, at 11.8%.

It’s also the cheapest on our list so far, as you’ll only need $41,615 per year. Here’s how the numbers add up:

  • 20 years: $850K
  • 18 years: $750K
  • 12 years: $650K

Springfield, Missouri

It’s no wonder Springfield sounds attractive. The percentage of seniors 65 and older is a whopping 14,9% and it’s no wonder. The livability score is 65 and the annual expenditure is also pretty low at $43,399. This is the perfect destination for fans of the outdoors. There are 92 parks to choose from for your stroll or picnic, including the Botanical Center at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, and a zoo.

In this city, you’ll definitely feel like you’re a part of a big, loving community. Here’s how long you can bank on living in Springfield:

  • 20 years: $850K
  • 17 years: $750K
  • 11 years: $650K

Mobile, Alabama

If Springfield isn’t to your taste but you still want to live somewhere with a high percentage of seniors, Mobile is a fantastic place to settle down. Said percentage is up to 15,5%! Again, the quality of life score is at 65 and you’ll need $43,102 a year. Here’s how long your savings will last you:
