5 Medicare Changes We Will Face in 2022

Telehealth isn’t going anywhere

2020 is surely the year everyone used telehealth, especially seniors. 60% of Medicare beneficiaries with a regular provider asked to receive access to online appointments. This adoption rate will only increase, given the fact that 82% of seniors have high-speed Internet access and 91% of Medicare Advantage plan members said they had good telehealth experiences.

Even though telehealth was enacted early in the pandemic, the Medicare payment rule is going to change, but, until then, it will remain intact as of the 2022 MA final rule. In order to reduce any possible risks, CMS envisions telehealth-permissible codes the same as in-person codes.

This means MA organizations shouldn’t stop promoting telehealth services to their members and encourage adherence to chronic condition management and preventive care.

This is all great for the big company, however, when you live on Social Security it’s terrible. Last year the social security payment went up a little maybe $100-150, but right away medicare raised their fee so I think my check was about $20 different. When the cost of living is so high and changing each year so rapidly, and of course, we have to pay taxes too. Retirees NEED HELP.
