Fort Myers, Florida

Fort Myers metro area is located on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It boasts a number of beaches within its reach, like Fort Myers, Sanibel, and Captiva Islands. The median home cost for those ages 60 and older is around $200,200. The average monthly mortgage payment is $1,364, while monthly costs for a paid-off house are $562.

The median rent is $1,033 per month. The city’s filled with all kinds of attractions, entertainment venues, and a lower-than-average cost of living. It’s also worth mentioning that more than a quarter of Fort Myers’ population is over 65 years old, although there are many millennials and young families as well.

    Bad choices. Boston? Taxes. San Diego? Restrictions for COVID-19, highest taxes, highest gas prices until the State throws out the Democrats. Miami? Really? This is retirement.
