Everyone hates tax season, especially when you’re retired and have to live on a fixed budget. Retirement might have its perks and all, but you should still consider if the place you are planning on spending your golden years has sales taxes, property taxes, taxes on Social Security, retirement distributions, estates, and inheritance and the like.

The good news is that seniors in some states have it better than others in terms of deductions, exemptions and overall taxes. These states are what some would call tax havens for retirees. That being said, check out our top 10 most tax-friendly states for retired taxpayers in 2021.
