Invest in friendships
Everybody, even introverts, crave human companionship. And how do you foster such companionship? By ‘investing’ in your friendships. No, we’re not saying you should pay your friends to hang out with you… that would be weird!
The research is also in, friendships make us happier and healthier. William Chopik, a researcher, found that the more importance we put on our connections the better we’ll feel overall in terms of happiness, fulfillment, health and satisfaction.
Not only that, but older individuals seem to feel these impacts a lot more!
Worried about smoking or stress? Then you should be as worried about being lonely. It can be just as dangerous and detrimental to your mental and physical health.
Even if you’re not a fan of large gatherings and late night parties, the connections you make and sustain with other people are the reason you wake up in the morning. Or, at least, they should be!
