Arlington, Texas

Texas cities are not only in the top ten but also in the second part of our list. Arlington, yet another Texan city just south of Dallas, has a growing number of seniors still in workforce. With a median senior household income of $48,286, no wonder people 50-plus choose to keep working. Job postings include application developer, accounts payable clerk, insurance underwriter and business intelligence developer.

Seattle

Senior population: 83,068
Moving on from Texas to the Washington area, we’ve got Seattle ranking 14th in terms of senior workforce. The Emerald City not only has a high percentage of working seniors but it has also experienced a whopping increase over the past decade.
Between 2009 and 2019, the number of working people aged 50 and older increased by 73%, while the overall senior population increased by 27%. Job openings for seniors include relationship manager for community lending, insurance underwriter, financial services consultant, and sales associate.
Lincoln, Nebraska

In the capital city of the state Nebraska, the senior population still working has been on the rise since 2009. Over the past decade, the number of working adults aged 50 and older has grown 74 percent while the overall senior population increased by approximately 36 percent. Lincoln offers a wide range of available jobs, among which tutor, insurance underwriter and security officer.
