Optimize your front doors

You should know that a solid and well secured door can save you from many dangers, and you must optimize it if you do not already have a strong one. Moreover, thieves also analyze what kind of door you have when they study your house as a potential target, so that’s why you should be ready for anything.

“The easiest way for a predator to enter your home is through a weak door or unsecured window. Layer on security with bump-proof/pick proof locks and use 3-inch screws on the strike plate that burrows deep into the door frame, using a deep box strike plate,” says Steve Kardian, an officer and FBI defense tactics instructor.

… and do not forget about your windows

Windows are just as important as doors because they are the first target of thieves when they want to attack. So, you have to be prepared and that is why it is essential to secure the windows as well. So if you have normal windows made of regular wood frames and glass, you should replace them with some made of more solid materials, such as the insulating window. Also, if you do not have a garden you can opt for metal grilles that can protect your windows and prevent thieves from entering.
