Lost Tax Benefits

This is a sneakier kind of cost that sadly not a lot of seniors think about. You could lose some tax benefits when you move. If your state has a senior tax exemption, you won’t be carrying it over to your new chapter of life when you relocate. In the end, if you’ll be spending the same amount of money as usual, you’ll still end up with less of it in your pocket because of this.
