Eating out
Average household expenses in the US in 2019: $3,459
Personal finance specialists usually recommend spending more on quality groceries that last longer instead of going out to eat or getting take-out. That’s because cooking at home is way cheaper and even healthier than eating out.
Bottom line: you shouldn’t completely exclude eating at restaurants but be more careful with choosing where you eat and what to eat. And just think that a little bit of planning can help you cut your eating out expenses and turn them into savings which brings you one step closer to your FIRE goals.
