2. Renting out a room

Most retirees are empty-nesters and have a spare room or two in the house once their adult children are out of the house. If you want to take advantage of the rooms you no longer use, you could rent them out and make some additional cash.

Extra Tip: Use websites such as Airbnb, VRBO (“Vacation Rentals by Owner”) to put your room up for rent on popular but safe platforms.
