5. Torresdale — Philadelphia

Let’s start with Torresdale’s livability score, which sits at 72, meaning that the neighborhood is safe, has great amenities, pleasant weather and is overall friendly and welcoming. And how could it not be? 26.3% of its population is made out of seniors ages 65 or older.

In Philadelphia, you’d find a home for an average of $214,900, but Torresdale is far more affordable. Here, the median list price is $174,900. It’s also known for a variety of cafes and parks to pick from when you’re looking for a simple, comfortable outing.
