An unclear vision of the retirement date
There are two categories of boomers in this situation: one category believes they would be able to work longer than they actually could, and the other one is forced to postpone their retirement due to lack of money.
Some 29% of those aged 62 to 66 years old have delayed their retirement date, but also a stunning number of 33% of those aged 67 to 72. On the other side, the others overestimate how long they’ll be able to keep on working: 31% of baby boomers believe they’ll be working past 70(talk about ambition!).
But unfortunately, studies have found that fewer than 10% actually do.
