11 Reasons Why Baby Boomers Aren’t Prepared To Retire

Spending their retirement savings

Another impressive number of 17% of baby boomers saved for their retirement and spend it all away- either in crisis or carelessness. Let’s just put it this way: baby boomers are by far the wealthiest generation, and no one can deny it.

They hold 70% of the disposable income in the U.S. and are annually spending over $548 billion, more than any other generation, across all categories(this includes spending the most per transaction).

So it’s not easy to figure that all they ever managed to save for retirement, was easily spent. Of course, retailers know that very well, and they definitely don’t hesitate on taking advantage of it.
