Receiving help that doesn’t help you
You might receive all the support in the world from your children/ grandchildren to move out in a smaller home, but you need to be clear whether their support is helping you or not.
You need to make your needs and expectations very clear for your loved ones and receive only the help that suits these needs. It’s a conversation that will help both sides: it will help you take the needed steps, and maybe they’ll have to benefit from it as well. One of your grandchildren might be interested in purchasing the house, or maybe they’ll want to take that dining room set you won’t need anymore.
When is it too much?…..
