Consider the amenities
Some may let themselves get swept away by the thought of moving to a new place. But don’t forget to consider what your expectations from that place and your priorities are, in terms of amenities and facilities.
For instance, you might be the proud owner of a pet that you can’t leave behind, so pet-friendly communities should be a priority in your search for the perfect home in retirement. If you are an active person and want to continue staying alert during retirement, look for places near hiking trails, golf courses or other outdoor recreation options.
Other amenities many people find important are cultural, shopping and dining amenities, off-street parking, swimming pool or sports grounds.
