Looking for a great retirement destination while on a budget? Number 12 on our list not only scored a whopping 84 in terms of livability, but it also boasts the lowest listing price of all our showcased neighborhoods. In Great Northwest, the median listing price is $166,000. Anywhere else in San Antonio, you could pay $70,535 more!

Seniors, who make up 11.8% of the population, will find that the neighborhood is family and dog-friendly, offers a lot of hiking and volunteering opportunities.

You’ll need a car to get around, but the community claims that parking is easy. All the better to visit the area’s several amenities.
