25 Changes to Your 401(K) Plan That Can Save Your Retirement

Roll Your 401(k) Over

Switching jobs? Don’t worry, you can and should roll your 401(k) over. Remember, your new employer might attract you with an even better plan than your last employer! This is a fantastic position to be in since you can pick the plan that works best for you.

But, of course, your new employer might not have a better plan. That means that you can stick to your old one. The only downfall is that you will no longer be able to make any payroll deduction contributions, and you also won’t be getting matching contributions from the job you’ve just left.

In most cases, the smarter move is to roll your 401(k) over!
