12 Best Countries To Live Perfectly Well on Social Security Alone

June 7, 2021 · Retirement Life

Mexico

Believe it or not, Mexico has been named the world’s third best place to retire in 2021, according to International Living’s 2021 Annual Global Retirement Index. The picturesque beaches, impressive mountain towns and modern cities, not to mention affordable costs, have already convinced more than 1.5 million U.S. citizens to live in Mexico, as reported by the U.S. State Department.

“Because of its geographic diversity, you can also choose your favorite climate: from warm and dry to warm and sultry to spring-like temperatures all year in the Colonial Highlands,” says the annual report. A retiring couple can live quite well on $1,500 to $3,000 per month, including rent and healthcare, depending on the place you choose for your golden years.

I did not see the English speaking country of The Philippines on this list.
I believe that the islands of paradise beat most of the countries on this list, hands down.
