April 24, 2019 · Retirement Life

19. North Beacon Hill — Seattle

North Beacon Hill in Seattle is a great place to move to during retirement if you’re looking for culture and staying close to nature while not giving up on the dream of living in a big city. This neighborhood has scored a 64 in terms of livability, and the percentage of people over 65 is 16.4%.

So what is there to do in North Beacon Hill? Well, for your day to day activities you should know this is the home to the Beacon Hill commercial district. But for those who want a little extra spice in their lives, they should look into Jefferson Park, where they’ll find the Beacon Food Forest, a 7-acre urban community farm. Not only that, but the park is known to host theatrical events put on by Beacon Arts. What that ultimately translates to is a healthy lifestyle, cultural events, and walkability all wrapped into one.

Finally, we think the median listing price of $659,500 is pretty good for Seattle.
