Top 20 Affordable Cities for Retirees in 2020

February 7, 2020 · Retirement Life

16. Greensboro, North Carolina

If your aim is to pay around $200,000 for a home, look no further than Greensboro. Those who also want to stretch every penny will appreciate the under 5% statewide sales tax.

You’ll find so many things to do in this city, we can hardly name them all. For a little bit of fun, you could visit the Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe, one of the largest waterparks in North Carolina and features over 26 water rides, slides and attractions. If you’re less active yet are still looking for a fun time out you could visit the Greensboro Science Center, the International Civil Rights Museum or the Weatherspoon Art Museum.

If none of those strike your fancy, the city also has the Greensboro Symphony, the Greensboro Ballet and Triad Stage on offer. All in all, if you move to Greensboro, you’ll never get bored.
