Top 20 Affordable Cities for Retirees in 2020

February 7, 2020 · Retirement Life

19. Arlington, Texas

Seniors who are unsure whether to buy their own property in Arlington or to rent a semi-private nursing home room needn’t despair. Out of all the cities on this list, you’ll find the cheapest rest for the latter option. With median list prices of around $250,000 you won’t have to dig too deep into your pockets for a comfortable retirement home.

Sports fans, particularly those who cheer for the Texas Rangers, will be able to fit nicely in the community since Arlington is the baseball team’s home. With the International Bowling Campus in your back yard, you’ll easily find bowling halls to engage in some friendly competition or perhaps you could pay a visit to the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame.

But if you’re looking for a bigger adrenaline rush, Arlington also has the Six Flags Over Texas theme parks! Alternatively, this could be a great place for you to take your grandkids when they come to visit.
