10. Spain: First-World Amenities at Southern European Prices

If you desire first-world European infrastructure—high-speed trains, impeccable roads, and rich historical conservation—Spain is the most affordable gateway. The Mediterranean diet, famous for promoting longevity and heart health, is simply the standard way of life here. Fresh olive oil, seafood, and local produce are inexpensive and widely available.

Spain’s Non-Lucrative Visa is designed for individuals who have sufficient financial means to support themselves without working locally. While the income requirement is slightly higher than Latin American options (currently around $30,000 a year for a single applicant), it remains within reach for many retirees combining Social Security with moderate savings. A budget of $2,500 a month affords a comfortable life in sun-drenched coastal cities like Valencia or Alicante, complete with excellent public transport and highly rated private healthcare.
