Medicare helps pay for many healthcare services. Being eligible for Medicare and receiving their financial support is extremely important in retirement, especially since healthcare costs continue to rise year after year. Therefore, it’s important to know where exactly you will fit in. Depending on your health condition, on your visits to the doctor’s office, “you may want to consider a Medicare supplement. “Paying interest is a killer in retirement,” says Zaino. He suggests using any extra income to pay off the debt with the highest interest rate. The faster you can eliminate it from your life, the better. Once you’ve dealt with the highest interest rate, focus on paying off the next one and so on until you’ve reached a debt-free status.
