5. Seniors Live Alone

We might not like to admit it, but it’s true. Most seniors live alone. In fact, one in three seniors that are not staying in a nursing home are on their own, according to the Institute of Aging.

Not only does this trend seem to get higher as we age, but it also affects more women than men, seeing as one in two women aged 75 or older live alone. This time of isolation could have devastating consequences, which is why it’s so important to stay close to our communities.

If you have family you can rely on even if you’re not in the same house, make sure to contact them often!
