10 States to Retire For Less Than 45K a Year

Alabama

The annual expenditures here are $44,897. Alabama is really worth considering in your retirement planning because the healthcare costs here are in the 7th place of the lowest of the nation: only $6,177 annually. Plus, the cost of living in Alabama is 10.6% below the rest of the U.S.

If you rely heavily on a pension in your golden years, retiring here will really fit your needs. If you’re coming from the private sector, Alabama won’t tax your income because it comes from a defined benefit retirement plan. Even more, the state takes care of veterans, because military retirement pay is exempt.

I would consider moving to TN or maybe Mississippi only because those states i know support Americans Constitutional Freedoms. Im not sure about the others on your list? I have already been looking for land in WV and TN and was considering TN for a 3rd choice as i have found it hard to find land with a year round stream/creek/river on it? My wife and i both agree it has to have a stream flowing on the property. Well back to my search since i have had no luck locating any undeveloped land as of yet? lol

I wouldn’t want to go to a state where the legislature is attempting to minimize or cancel my vote. That’s truly unconstitutional.
