Montana

The 46.8% of seniors that are in high health in Montana are said to be able to work well into their golden years, though only 19.4% are currently doing just that. That may be due to the poverty rate, which is at 7.2%. Meanwhile, 10.8% of seniors worry about their next meals.
All in all, there are currently 41,000 senior workers in Montana.

Nebraska

In Nebraska, 13.2% of seniors don’t know where their next meal is coming from, though the poverty rate in this state is at 7.2%. Luckily, 44.2% might still find or keep jobs, seeing as they are in high health.
Currently, 23.9% of seniors are still working, which translates to 70,000 individuals.

Nevada

Shockingly, 14.4% of seniors in Nevada suffer from food insecurity, which might be why 21.6% of them are still in the workforce to this day (108,000).
The poverty rate in this state is also at 8.5%.

New Hampshire

Though New Hampshire has the lowest poverty rate in the U.S., sitting at 5.8%, 13.6% of its senior residents experience some form of food insecurity.
On the bright side, 67.6% of boomers are able-bodied, while a further 32.3% are happily volunteering throughout the state.
You’ll find 22.4% of seniors still at work in this state, meaning that there are 53,000 senior workers here.

New Jersey

As few as 34.8% of seniors in Jew Jersey are physically active, while 22% are currently working. That translates to 331,000 boomers in the workforce.
Only 41% of them are in good quality health, which could be an underlying reason behind the 8.4% poverty rate and 12.4% food insecurity rate.
