10 Crucial Things to Consider If You Plan on Retiring in the Next 5 Years

November 24, 2020 · Retirement Life

Is your company cutting costs?

It can be hard to determine if your company will need to make some cutbacks, but if you’re working at a small business, retiring now might help your employer in keeping the business afloat. With budgets taking an unprecedented hit, many companies have to clearly determine what they can and can’t afford and manage costs accordingly. In most cases, it means cutbacks.

Why it’s important

If your company will need to cut costs and your retirement might help them get through this crisis and save the job of a younger work colleague, your decision could weigh a lot. If you can have an honest and frank discussion with your boss about the impact of the pandemic on the business, ask about their measures to overcome the crisis and whether or not your early retirement would really help them stay afloat. However, if you’re simply not ready to retire, don’t take any decision based on your feelings and emotions alone.
