The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) can be a useful tool to you in your search. On their website, you can find a list of places you should look out for or at the very least research before committing to any one place.

Magnolia Ridge in Gardendale, AL for example has just one star out of five, one meaning they are “well below average”. Even though some of these facilities may have poor quality ratings based on a single caregiver, we obviously want what it is best for a family member so we should inform ourselves as best as we can in our search.
