YOUR CAR

Your car can come in handy in many situations, but it can also involve significant costs that can affect your budget, especially when you’re a retiree. According to AAA, the average cost of owning and operating a car is $8,849 a year. This includes fuel, maintenance, repairs, insurance, license, registration and taxes, depreciation, and finance charges.

Cities with developed public transportation often provide discounts to seniors, but simply ditching one car can help you save a lot of money.
