13. They’re optimistic

There’s a difference between optimism and blind optimism. Of course, early retirees need to be realistic about their goals and experiences but they generally have a very positive outlook on life.

Many even attribute their success to the well-known placebo effect, claiming that they were able to influence their future by simply being optimistic. Even if you don’t believe this is possible, we highly encourage you to try and stay positive about your life. You’ve only got one, so make sure you’ve always got a smile on!
